Noah McGhee describes what life was like in Poarch Switch when he was a boy. He talks about dances held in the community and his church. He discusses the process of hunting game and smoking and cooking meat, as well as foraging. He recalls that his father used to be a medicine man and speaks about his work. Noah’s wife Ollie Mae McGhee joins the interview and they discuss making sofke—a corn soup—and fever remedies. Noah then speaks about thejobs he’s held over time and discusses his childhood. He speaks about the changes he has seen in the community over time.
